England put in an impressive performance in the third T20I of their 2024 tour of South Africabeating the hosts by nine wickets at SuperSport Park in Centurion. The comprehensive victory secured the series for England, with Charlotte Doyen shining as Player of the Match for her exceptional bowling performance.

Having elected to bat first after losing the toss, South Africa Women got off to a rocky start, losing Anneke Bosch for a duck in the opening. England’s bowlers kept the pressure high, with Lauren Bell and Dean leading the charge.

South Africa’s innings found some stability thanks to Annerie Dercksen (19 out of 12) and Sleep in the bones (21 off 17), but frequent wickets disrupted their momentum. Intermediate order dough Ndumiso Shangase showed resilience, with a score of 31 out of 35, while Nadine de Klerk contributed 19 off 22. Chasing 125, England showed an aggressive approach from the start. Danielle Wyatt led the charge with a scintillating 53 from 31 balls, smashing 10 fours and a six. Maïa Boucher provided strong support with a quickfire 35 off 21, with five limits and a maximum.

The pair added 88 runs for the opening wicket, putting England in firm control. After Wyatt was fired, Sophie Dunkley sealed the victory with an unbeaten 24 from 17, ensuring the visitors reached the target in just 11.3 overs. Dean’s hard-hitting spell stood out as he accurately dismantled South Africa’s middle order. Wyatt’s fifty attacks further underlined England’s dominance, supported by the tight bowling of Bell and Ecclestone.
